The Ministry of the Deacons

At Good Shepherd, our Deacons are called to a ministry of care and witness, compassion, and service. Inspired by the example of Jesus Christ, they serve those in need both within our congregation and throughout the community.

Deacons provide support during times of illness, grief, or personal crisis, offering practical help and a listening ear. Their work may include visiting the homebound, coordinating meals, sending cards, making phone calls, and ensuring no one feels alone or forgotten.

Rooted in love and led by faith, the Deacons embody the heart of our church’s mission to serve with humility and grace. They are a visible reminder that we are called to care for one another—not only in word, but in action.

The deacon’s role is not about authority but about servanthood, emphasizing practical love in action. The heart of the ministry is to extend Christ’s mercy and grace to all.
